Shooting schedules

Lights, Camera, Action!

As of next week I will be starting the production process of my two minute film opening! Throughout just the course of these two weeks I was able to gather enough information and incorporate new ideas to make my Caimbridge Portfolio stand out.

Starting next week things will start to get a little hectic here and there. But with the help of my friend Santiago Valencia(he will play as the roll of the protagonist, Lucas Paine) this journey will play a toll on both my experience and creativity.

I would like to get as much filming as I can done by next week so my shooting days will be 03/02/2022, 03/04/2022 and 03/05/2022.

Therefore shooting in these three prominent days will give me a longer shot in the post production process being: editing, outlining and so fourth.

I am so exited to keep all of you tuned for a spontaneous ride explaining my filming process.

Outline

As I create my two minute presentation I decided to incorporate dialogue in order to create a significant tone in the voice of Lucas Paine.

So Script Writing, what does it consist of? you might be asking yourself. Script writing is the process of recording the characters' movements, actions, expressions, and dialogue in a screenplay format.

The process of researching for outline websites was challenging, but after talking to multiple people I was recommended a few programs where I can compose my ideas. Therefore, I narrowed it down to three websites.

Celtx

As my first choice picked Celtx.
The website gives story writing template and shows you what to put above each line of acts, dialogue, actions, expressions and so fourth.
It also comes with free month trial, so you won't be wasting money!
In other words, chose this website as my second opportunity for improving my screenplay performance.
Here is an example of a script shown as soon as you enter the website:

'Go Into The Story'

Unlike Celtx, this website not only allows you to take screenwriting lesson, but it also identifies great artists who have translated film language onto paper.
Its website publishes screenplays on daily basis.
The aspect liked the most was that the posts were short, which provided me more time to look at different websites while also giving me sense of what their website was madup of.
They provide insight into discussions with screenwriters, such as Paul Thomas Anderson, who wrote and directed his latest film Licorice Pizza.
Aside from all of the resources available on this website, the unfavorable aspect is the monthly membership or year-round buying option.

ScriptBuilder

Lastly, but most importantly, Scriptbuilder. Lets say my experience with Script writing is not my strongest suit. This is why I chose script builder as my initial choice because it has multiple features that help you build up your own script. For example they show a script outline we’re you label each act and location of every scene. Taking all factors into consideration I will start my outline using this website and will begin posting my experience with the site itself as well as the journey through the whole message.

Storyboard

Reporting back with live features of agustina tolosa's Cambridge portfolio project:

Hello there, everyone! It's me once more. I chose to delve more into my first big step, story boarding, after finishing my planning post. Now that we have technology, we can do this in a variety of ways. Many of you may not be aware, but drawing is not my strong suit, and while it does not need to be perfect, it must convey the meaning of what I will be portraying in my film's opening scene. As a result of my research, I encountered https://www.storyboardthat.com/my-account2?buyNow=False, a storyboard website that allows you to make storyboards with various qualities that combine your own unique ideas into a cohesive whole.

The course of this pictures are represented as a constant cycle of bad things that happen to the protagonist of m film opening, Lucas Paine. https://www.storyboardthat.com/storyboards/6f103713/unknown-story/edit lets me play around with different features and create a story with different atmospheres and objects.

Credit Ideas

Hi Guys and welcome back to my two minute film opening journey!

In the beginning before any film opening there is a variety of shots showing credit for the people who made the piece possible. Without credits people would never be recognized for all the wonders that are produced, edited, filmed, etc.

Hoosiers 1986

My first target, Hoosiers 1986 (based on "The Milan Miracle," the story of the 1954 Milan High School basketball team, which won the state championship on a last-second shot by Bobby Plump) begins their film opening scene with their credits as well as theme song.

After incorporating ideas from my research, my film will start off with different shots showing the sunrise (since later on we will see him waking up from his bed) and other parts of Lucas's (protagonists) room to visually interpret the beginning setting of the film. Although no dialogue is heard the audience gains information through visual contexts/ shots of the first few scenes.

Westworld 2016

As for the overall font and appearance of the credit pop ups I based my font movement research on a series opening called Westworld ; an exclusive theme park where those who can afford a ticket can live without limits. It's opening credits are shown to be subtle with light texture onto the font. I enjoyed seeing the transitioning from different parts of the screen towards every credit shown. Sometimes the credits were shown in the right side of the screen, sometimes in the center, other times they were shown on the lower third side of the screen.

Since my opening will start off by displaying a sequence of different shots to portray the setting. In one of those shots there will be a sunrise included, these font textured pop ups complement with the atmosphere of the clips.

Planning Steps

Hi everyone!

Welcome back if you are new here, care to join in my Cambridge portfolio journey where I transform superstition and dark/fantasy comedy into a two minute film creation.

Planning evolution

After gathering enough background information I have concluded what will be my next steps to planning and how I will incorporate an efficient routine for my film opening. First things first, a shot listBefore starting any project the best thing is to come up with a few ideas of how my shots and angles will incorporate meaning to the overall message of my  story.

Next step, screenplay. As long as there’s shots in my film there also needs to be dialogue and a display of the things that will be spoken of during my film opening. A storyboard will assemble all creative ideas I had in mind into a whole.

Therefore, I will be making storyboards as my third step. Editing as always comes last and is known to be a post production process.

After all my recordings are done and all my futuristic plans have been finalized I will stroll down to edit my clips and assemble what will soon to be: a film opening.

Technical Elements

 Hello my fellow viewers!

Im here to update you on my recent research and outcome to my planning of my portfolio project. As many of you may or may not know, the purpose of my film opening is to transmit a sense of dark comedy and superstition within my main character, Lucas Paine. I based my ideas off of two different film creations one invested in superstition and the other a mix of dark/ fantasy comedy. (check my last post to gain more information).

Jinxed was my main inspiration for my character. The film is based off of a family cursed with centuries of bad luck. One of the main characters in the film is Brett Murray a Teenage boy the same character I will be comparing my subject with.

Lucas Paine style is categorized as laid back popular high school boy who drives a white Mercedes Benz. Even though most of his sense of fashion looks mostly the same any other day, his unique style stands out from any other male teenager.
